THEO – Theatre of the Oppressed with Music:  the toolkit is now available

We are pleased to announce the publication of the THEO Toolkit, one of the main outcomes of the European THEO project, developed through the collaboration between MUS-E Cyprus and Giolli Cooperative.

The toolkit brings together practical methodologies, tools, and activities that combine Theatre of the

Oppressed, created by Augusto Boal, with Deep Listening and participatory music practices. 

Its aim is to provide educators, trainers, youth workers, social practitioners, and facilitators with practical resources to foster inclusion, dialogue, empathy, and active participation within diverse groups and communities.

Designed especially for working with people and groups experiencing vulnerability or discrimination—including migrants, refugees, and minority communities—the toolkit offers activities that can be easily adapted to different educational, cultural, and social contexts. It highlights the transformative potential of artistic expression, collective music-making, and participatory theatre as powerful tools for social change.

The toolkit is freely available on the project website and is intended for anyone interested in exploring innovative approaches that combine theatre, music, and active listening to promote inclusion, empowerment, and community engagement.
